THIS IS US!

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Prior to 2014, our Founder and Director, Trey McGuire began noticing a trend, and that trend was unacceptable to him. Serving in a local church, Trey worked hand in hand with young adults of our area. The more service members he met, the more he noticed that our Warriors were alone. That hole was something that he set out to fill.

Over the years, a tight knit group of airmen alongside Trey set their sights on filling what was missing with a makeshift extended "family". Out of that small "family" of brothers, the first Warrior's Thanksgiving Feast was born, as a way to make sure our local Warriors were not alone at Thanksgiving. From that November 2014 night, the idea of a non-profit organization was born.

'THAT NIGHT, AT THE END OF THAT FIRST FEAST, WE ALL JUST LOOKED AT EACH OTHER AND ASKED, "WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE IF WE COULD DO THIS ALL THE TIME?"' -Trey mcguire

NOVEMBER 2014 - THAT FIRST WARRIOR'S THANKSGIVING FEAST
MAY 2015 - WE INCORPORATE AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
SUMMER 2015 - A lunch happens with an airman named Brandon in which Trey is explaining the vision and Brandon replies to is saying "That sounds like a family, and family is what I need."

"THAT SOUNDS LIKE A FAMILY, AND FAMILY IS WHAT I NEED!" -BRANDON SMITH

2016 - THE YEAR OF FIRSTS
This year was headlined by learning. Learning what it meant to lead, to serve, to care. Learning where we fit, where we wanted to go, and where we wanted to make a difference.
2017 - THE YEAR OF IDENTITY
While we knew serving our Warriors was first and foremost, and we knew our identity was family from the beginning. 2017 saw us move from figuring this whole thing out to being comfortable in our own skin. Learning exactly who we are happened...and everything from began to filter through the lens of being an extended family for our Warriors.
2018 - THE YEAR OF GROWTH
As the organization grew, so did we. Stretching, pulling, dreaming, daring...all a part of the growing pains of pursuing a mission...especially when that mission is centered around people, and only people. Leaders rose up. Opportunities presented themselves. Dreams became reality.
We grew closer, we grew deeper, we grew together.
2019 - THE YEAR OF INFLUENCE & REFINING
Everyone has influence and everything/everyone needs refining from time to time. We strive to refine our organization to be better for our cause. We threw everything on the table and filtered it through that same filter...FAMILY. We asked hard questions, we dreamed impossible dreams. Mission statements, logos, & resources all got updated, not changed totally, refined...updated...better. We refined each other. We challenged ourselves. We challenged you. You challenged us. You challenged yourselves.  ALL in an effort to leave the greatest influence we can in our path and to radiate a message that you, our Warriors, can leave a trail of influence in your path, and that influence is even more influential when it has been refined.
2020 - THE YEAR OF CHANGE
One word describes this year, one word that we can't even stomach to say anymore. I'll give you a hint, it starts with a P and ends with a C, and it brought our world to a screeching halt. However, we teach that your unexpected crisis can help you find your ultimate purpose, and if that is true of people, why can't it be true of an organization made of, and focused on, people.

The pandemic, (oops, I said it) allowed us to focus on the area we saw in and throughout our history that had risen to the forefront of issues our Warriors face, and that is emotional and relational wellbeing. The refining of 2019 prepared us for this fact, we have seen more care given this year than in the first four combined. We believe that this year has set the tone for the future, and that future is bright. What we are learning NOW is going to be used to heal and restore that Warrior who is hurting, broken, and questioning everything.

NEVER STOP DREAMING.
NEVER STOP LEARNING.
NEVER STOP GROWING.
NEVER STOP REFINING.
NEVER STOP!

Fast forward through the years and family has become our identity...and out of that identity, we have identified multiple things that we believe our Warriors bring to the table. A culture of radical and selfless care born out of the very pain and experiences of Trey's personal life has grown into a cause that is helping our Warriors understand their own personal experiences are not just what has happened to them, rather is what prepares them to use their God given abilities to influence their world around them.

EveryWarrior.org was born out of the fact that something was missing, and we believe that the things that are our greatest holes, pains, missteps, and issues can be the greatest tools we could ever be given.
