HERE & THERE
A #TRUTHBETOLD BLOG

I don’t want to insult your intelligence from the beginning, but I do want to make sure we’re all on the same page. So let me define a couple words…
Got it? Good.
Simon Sinek, when talking about vision, says this:
- HERE - this place; this point; the present.
- THERE - that place; that point; another time.
Got it? Good.
Simon Sinek, when talking about vision, says this:
"Vision is the ability to talk about the future with such clarity it is as if we are talking about the past."
Reread that sentence one more time. He hits all three states of time…past, present, and future…inside those 22 words. So basically, in this very moment, the vision that you have for something, be it your day, your cause, your life, or whatever, should sound like you’re standing there at the end of it reading the book that’s already been written about your day, your cause, your life, or whatever.
That’s a pretty stout way to look at and think about vision.
When we started Every Warrior (The Network, for short) back in 2015, the vision was almost impossible to adequately articulate. I knew in my head what I imagined. I knew there was something worth fighting for. I knew that that “something” was actually people. And sure enough, I knew those people had names and faces.

I also knew something was missing.
I’ll never forget the day I was sitting with a couple Warriors sharing a meal at Moe’s Southwest Grill in Shreveport, fumbling through my words as I tried to, once again, explain what I envisioned and what I was convinced would help fill the void I mentioned above. Through my absolutely pitiful attempts at casting a vision, one of the guys (whom I barely knew at the time) cut me off with these words that will stick with me til the day God calls me home…

“That sounds like a family, and that’s what I need!”
That day, thanks to a little help from what I viewed as a very unlikely source (another lesson for another day), I walked away with the initial vision for Every Warrior Network: FAMILY!
Little did I know just how much that one word would shape both the foundation and the future of what would become EveryWarrior.
You see, for Jeremy Puzio, Aaron Blake, Jamie Morris, AJ Kirk, and Justin Countryman (the five fellas with me in the pic above) and a few other folks I was getting to become friends with, FAMILY helped fill that void I saw.

The word TREND is defined as a general direction in which something is developing or changing.
We’re moving further UPSTREAM.
We’re seeing a TREND.
We’re giving our best YES.
The Feast
The Store
So I’ll leave you with this quote from our buddy Eleazar, who faced cancer a couple years back. If I can sum up why we do what we do, it’s so that one more Warrior experiences this reality.

For EVERY Warrior!
