As with all our events, we love to use these as a catalyst for good! This is why we created Every Warrior Gives Back...aka...#EWGivesBack! In years past, event attendees have provided food for local schools, clothing for homeless shelters, and more. This year, with WarriorFest, we have an opportunity to impact some of our own!

We are partnering long-term with a work that is already beginning at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS, to eradicate food insecurity in the military community stationed in that area. According to Military Family Advocacy Network, in 2019, 1 in 8 respondents to their survey of 7,800 military members and families were experiencing food insecurity. Organizer and Operator, Megan Brown says this, “We have found that as many as 1 in 5 (at Keesler) are experiencing food shortages and insecurity. In response to this immense need, we partnered with the Airman’s Attic and have opened and are maintaining a food pantry specifically for our currently serving Warriors and Families.”

As we begin this partnership, to help offset their small but growing budget, if you want to participate, we are asking you to bring Target Brand diapers and wipes and/or dry non-perishable food items with you to WarriorFest. Following the event, these items will make their way south to the gulf coast to meet Warriors and families where the need is! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PARTICIPATE TO ATTEND.

Keep this in mind as well…the data above is nearly two years old and has not taken into account the recent pandemic, housing shortages, or inflation currently impacting today’s armed forces.
