Thursday's Action Step

Dec 24, 2020

We were made for connection...and our Christmas Eve Action Step is simply this:
CONNECT

As we slow down and reflect on what this holiday means to us, let's take a few moments and reflect on those that mean so much to us. As those people cross our minds, take the initiative and make a connection with them...especially in a time where physical connection and presence may be hard to come by.

HERE ARE A FEW PRACTICALS:
- Send a text.
- Make a phone call.
- Celebrate a win.
- Congratulate them on something that has happened this year.
- Check on someone.
- Ask for forgiveness.
- Give forgiveness.
- Tell them you are praying for them, and actually pray for them.
- Stop in for a visit if you can.
- Facetime.
- Send a voice memo.
- Tell someone how you feel about them.
- Give a smile or a fist/elbow bump.
- Encourage.
- Thank them for being a friend.
- Tell someone why you are proud of them.
- Brag on a friend on social media.
- Thank them for something they did for you.
- Recognize the impact they made in your life and tell them.
- Acknowledge something they have been through and let them know you are still there.

None of these connections take any money. Actually, they just take the most valuable thing we have to give, and that is a little bit of our time. Use the time intentionally...really SEE the people in your life...and LOVE LIKE CRAZY this Christmas. The return on investment is just as amazing as the investment itself.

A little bit of intentional connection can overwhelm loneliness and isolation...especially when we are the initiators of the connection, rather than waiting on the connection to come to us.
