When we decided to re-record the Tom Petty classic “I Won’t Back Down,” Kyle and I knew two things right away, this cover needed to be an anthem to honor our nation’s heroes and we wanted it to have a distinct soulful, rock flair. Growing up in a family with veterans, I knew how true the lyrics “You could stand me up at the gates of Hell, But I won't back down” ring true for the men and women who have fought to defend our country. I sat down with Kyle at our recording studio, Steel Records Studios, and we married the simple truths that this Petty classic is known for with a unique new sound that’s full of emotion and filled with admiration for the people that have served this country. Stay tuned for the release of the “I Won’t Back Down” music video on November 11th, Veterans Day, where we are excited showcase local veterans and active duty members from all branches of the armed forces!
