Streets, Trash, and Warriors

Dec 29, 2020

Influenced by his fathers' own selfless service, our Vice President, Eric Hoffman, saw a need in the Shreveport/Bossier community and dreamed of a way to help meet it. Like many other cities, littered streets gave off the impression that our cities had given up on themselves. Like his father giving of himself to ensure that every cart in the local supermarket always found its way back to the store, Eric set out to ensure that tires, trash, debris, and other items that litter the streets found their way off the roads and into the dumpster.

With that, at the beginning of 2020, the idea for the Every Warrior Street Team was born. We asked oursleves what it would look like if we created a team of Warriors who were intentional about simply and safely picking up trash when they saw it. What would it look like if this team tackled a certain problem area in our community? What if what started in Shreveport/Bossier could be spread to communities all around the world? Would pride be restored to our cities? Could our Warriors lead the way and learn to love their communities by simply meeting this basic need?

We believe all of this is true, therefore our Street Team is simply a team of individuals who see a need and meet it. To date, our Street Team has collected almost 100 tires and over 13,000lbs of trash from our streets.

We will be tracking each tire and the total amount of trash collected throughout 2021 right on the homepage of our website beginning January 1. If you want to join the street team, click the link above.
