WarriorFest

Dec 28, 2020

When the pandemic hit, it brought a lot of our plans to a hauler, especially our events. In a weird way, that was actually a blessing, because it forced us to think outside the box and meet our Warriors where they were.

As you may know, we were actually born out of our very first Warriors Thanksgiving Feast back in 2014. With the fact that it was impossible for us to cram 1000 Warriors and family members in the Shreveport Convention Center this year, we determined early on that we were going to do something to curb the isolation and to be together as a family for Thanksgiving. With that, and with the blessing of local base leadership, WarriorFest was born.

With safety and connection being our values, we partnered with our friends at Riverpark Church for the use of their field, and started planning. The Sunday night before Thanksgiving, which is usually the Feast, saw fun and games, food and friends, giveaways and memories...all capped off with a 15 minute huge professional fireworks show. This was all done specifically to allow our Warriors to have a safe place to safely gather and to allow us a way to show them a glimpse of just how much we love them and are for them.

We know that 2021 will see another WarriorFeat event in some way, shape, form, and fashion...but who knows, this may have changed how we do events from here on out.
