You may remember hearing about a Warrior whose family lost all of their belongings a few years ago. When Ben Benton woke up that morning and walked to their uHaul to get on the road to their new base, he had no idea that life would never be the same. Long story short, their uHaul was gone, along with everything in it...furniture, clothes, toys for their toddler daughters, kitchen supplies, pictures, his motorcycle, and so much more...including the cremation remains of their infant son, which was packed safely and securely.
Following this, they received help and support from across the nation, literally. Fast forward to August of this year...
A military spouse whose husband is just a couple months into a one year deployment finds herself and their three kids facing several challenges, which is usually par for the course for any deployment. Well, as they are navigating real life issues, here comes the neighborhood HOA letting them know that their yard is out of regulations...oh, and it's consistently nudging 110 degrees outside. Now we know that yard work isn't necessarily the biggest of crisis, but like so many other things, it is a stress that compounds with the other issues that we face, therefore contributing to the crisis as a whole.
Enter Ben Benton...who took it upon himself to do what someone had done for him and his family. He stepped up, pressed in, and while he couldn't fix the problems as a whole, he took some of the stress off the plate so that they could focus on what they needed to focus on.
