Hard Stop

Hey Warrior...There are some things you need to STOP doing.

While there are always things that we feel we need to start doing in order to become better versions of ourselves, we cannot neglect the fact that there is just as much value, if not more, in some of the things we need to STOP doing. For example, you need to stop trying to change everyone around you. Focus on your own growth. You need to stop pretending you’re OK with something when you’re not OK with it. You need to stop saying “yes” when you really want to say “no”. You need to stop accepting toxic behavior from others just because you’ve accepted it for so long.

This is tough, because most of the time, stopping things like this rubs up against age-old thoughts and habits that we have allowed in our lives for as long as we can remember. However, we probably don't have to think too hard to identify that area in ourselves that needs a fresh boundary with the word STOP displayed in big flashing letters like the attention-grabbing signs you'd see on the Las Vegas Strip. Adding things will never have the impact on our lives as removing one negative thing, whether that's a habit we have or something we allow. Yes, there are many things we need to start doing, but for our own mental well-being, there are also things we need to stop doing.
