Finish this statement: Life isn’t a sprint, it’s a ______. Now how many of you answered the question with, marathon? Be honest. I mean, that’s a statement we’ve heard all throughout our lives. Life is in a sprint, it’s a marathon. But what if I told you I wanted you to look at it a different way? What if I told you that, that statement was in fact not totally true? No, life is not a sprint or a marathon. Life is a relay. And the reason it is a relay is that we spend our entire lives passing on what we have. Passing on our knowledge, wisdom, and experience. Passing on our values, ethics, and morals. We pass things on to our family, friends, loved ones, peers, etc. Life is not a race to be won, not a sprint nor a marathon, life is a relay. Make sure you’re passing the baton.
