Along the lines of the consistency that we talked about yesterday, what is the thing that we need to be consistent with? That can be summed up in one word...Presence. I know that in the military world, and in everyday life in general, it is nearly impossible to be physically present with people consistently. However, one thing the military does amazingly though is prove that relationships can far outlast the stresses that physical distance creates. Being there for someone does not have to include your physical presence. Rather, ask yourself these two questions...Am I communicating with my friends in such a way that they know that I am here no matter what, especially in those times that hit us out of nowhere? Do I know that I have friends like that in my life? If the answer is yes, then you are showing that you are there in the right way...even if you haven't physically seen your friend in years...
